Being released from IR because he didn't disclose his injury cost him his base salary(players on IR still get paid their base salary). Thus the reason his agent will file a grievance.

From what I heard we will save about $1 mil. His signing bonus(if he had one) still counts against the cap.

thanks for clarifying, I read the 1mil part, but I wasn't sure if that included his bonus or just the base salary.

Chamberlain was once again placed on injured reserve during the Saints’ cut-down to 75 players last week. On Tuesday, the Saints released Chamberlain from their injured reserve list with a designation that he failed to disclose a physical condition. The move could allow the Saints to get out of financial commitments that were otherwise owed to Chamberlain.

However, Chamberlain’s agent, Mark Slough, isn’t buying the reasoning behind the Saints move. Slough tweeted Tuesday that it was “bull” that Chamberlain had a prior undisclosed condition the team wasn’t aware of and they intend to file a grievance over the move.
