There are different levels of conservative. Running off tackle every play is extreme conservative. Mixing run and pass is still conservative, but less so.
I don't have a problem with being conservative, if we can move the chains and if our defense is stout. But the key is to be unpredictable and keep the defense guessing. The problem last year was our play calling of course was conservative, but it was also far too predictable. That's the issue here.

You realize last year we threw the ball more than the national champions? We werent conservative last year, but our QB sucked
