Actually, LSU has found some type of organism that eats it. I was talking to a guy who's brother-in-law works with it.

He says that they have successfully removed Salvania from a few small ponds and such.

They have the organisms/bugs in a bucket filled with Salvania, which the bugs and their larva live in. they take those buckets to the ponds and after a few short weeks it is eaten and gone.

This bug eats the root systems, which kills the plant permanently and is why it has worked so well.

No, I don't know what's it call but supposedly you can buy it from LSU or the LA Dept. of Ag.
