1st off, I was 1 of the few guys that didnt think Tre White would come in and start. I have always said Collins is going to be a big time player and I have all the confidence in him. And I still do. And regardless of Collins, its damn near impossible to start at CB as a freshman for "DBU". So dont come at me saying that garbage, because I never thought White would be a starter this year.
If hes better than every other CB that we have on the team after only being in the program for about 6-7 weeks, then by all means start him. What Im saying is that i really really doubt he will come in and be 1 of our top 4 CBs after only being in the program 6-7 weeks. And hes listed as 163lbs. Ill give him 170lbs. If he can come in at 170lbs and become better than all the other CBs that we have, then hes gonna be better than Patrick Peterson. Peterson is the cream of the crop when it comes to LSU DBs. He was here on time and participated in the summer workouts and in fall camp and was 205lbs. And the CBs that were ahead of him were Jai Eugene and Chris Hawkins. And he only started the last 4 games of the year.
RR is coming in without summer workouts and didnt participate in fall camp. And has some serious talent ahead of him, way more than PP did, with Collins, Mills, Thomas, Raymond, Brazil, and White. And White was considered to be a better CB than RR anyways and he was here on time. Hes ahead of RR.
RR def looks like he could become a great DB for us. But, hes not even here yet, and youre thinking he could become the best CB on the team in only 8 weeks. Not gonna happen.

Your twisting it bud. Your the one that was saying as a coaching perspective, dont waste the year. Which really doesnt change anything because if he is as good as expected it is very unlikely he would stay to start more than two years. The good thing about LSU is we use more than normal nickel packages.
Then your turn it to say if he is good enough by week 8 then play him.
Miles has clearly won games on special teams alone at times, so yes, if he comes in and plays like kelvin sheppard or juice landry on special teams as a frosh, then he needs to get in and make plays. Especially if we are contending.
and for the 170 lbs part, tyrann says hello
