I don't get how so many are confused about this. It's like reading a Hodor thread.

I don't think anyone is "confused." Just too many gaps to be such a huge shift in one of the main characters.

It's not about confusion. It's a big stretch. They wanted to move the story forward, but it could've been a better connection. In the 3 seconds Jesse was twitching around searching for his weed, he didn't figure out the meaning of life
We all understand Jesse just realized Huell pick-pocketed him twice. The kid didn't get poisoned with ricin though. It doesn't change anything about Brock, yet he was in Saul's office screaming about the ricin cig and poisoning Brock. It's a pretty far stretch is all. Not as "definitive" as some are making it out to be.
