I looked it up and saw this was an award show for music videos. What's the benefit of making a music video anymore? It seems like an unnecessary expense seeing as most channels don't even play them as much as they used to, and people can just hop on iTunes and buy a song in like 30 seconds.

You do know they make money off of YouTube views right? So music videos are important for many reasons.
Popular songs and good videos get like 50 million+ views.
