I'm watching on a delay. Aside from a handful of bad plays, I don't think the defense has looked all that bad. Reading this board from work earlier made it sound a lot worse. We're doing some things right - in the right direction IMO.

They just had a lot of trouble with the zone running. Looking at the schedule, it doesn't look like we face another team running that besides Seattle, I think.

Will Smith is way too fat and slow for his position. He had that one play but watching his gut flop as he seemed to struggle to make the play made me cringe. How the hell he starts is beyond me. We really must be thin if he's starting there.

Foster played well and Cam Jordan will be the star of this defense IMO. Vacarro is playing pretty well, too. I think we still have a ways to go but we won't be TOO terrible. I'm guessing around 22nd in total defense this year which would be bearable after last year's abomination of a defense. Hopefully we can mask the weaknesses by creating turnovers this year like the superbowl team.
