Gonna be in New Orleans this weekend for a quick little anniversary get away, and Im looking for something a little different to do for a few hours on Saturday(other than the walk around the quarter drink all day thing)

Anybody ever go to one of the cooking demonstrations at the New Orleans School of Cooking? Couple reviews I see online say its entertaining and a good way to spend a few hours, so I come to the F&DB looking for some more personal reviews.

I've been. It's decent and I drank enough Amber to offset the cost of my wife's and my ticket...

I've been once with my gf and a couple of her friends. Good way to spend a few hours on a weeknight .. not sure if they have classes during the day but I wouldn't spend a weekend night doing it.

There was a thread on this a while back, but the search on google won't pull it up or I'm not typing it in correctly.

Not something I'd enjoy because I can make all of what they demonstrate already. If you don't cook those types of dishes and want to learn, it might be fun.

I enjoy walking the Quarter down Royal and Chartres and looking at some of the artwork in Jackson Square. I think the cemeteries are very intersting and would consider one of those tours. The Supreme Court building on Royal offers tours and if you haven't seen what they've done with that building, it's worth a look. I took a tour and it's gorgeous. Plenty of places to hear good music.

Not sure if big boy who played in the NFL is still working there, but he's funny.

It's a good waste of time, you won't learn anything. You'll eat, laugh, and leave with a bread pudding recipe.
