Especially since Miller would be a first time offender?

In order to be suspended you have to be a second time offender

ESPN reports Broncos SLB Von Miller's suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy could be officially announced as early as Monday, and that he's facing "at least" a six-game ban.

It's safe to say Miller's appeal of what was expected to be a four-game suspension didn't go well, and that his recent arrest for blowing off a court appearance on traffic charges hurt his cause. It's still unclear what triggered Miller's ban, but he reportedly tested positive for both marijuana and amphetamines as a rookie. It's possible he failed a test last year, as well. It's a massive blow for a team adjusting to life without Elvis Dumervil, and still uncertain about LE Derek Wolfe's (neck) Week 1 status. Hopefully it's a wake-up call for Miller.

OK I remember that now, but I still thought the penalty on a first suspension was only 4 games.
