I would think the argument for lebron's liability stems from the money. if he's paying the cops, you could argue he's responsible for their actions, just like a police chief would for on duty cops. I'm not going to argue the merit of that argument because I would assume the police chief would still be liable for the off duty cops, not lebron.
jones, I'm not saying lebron didn't pay for the escort, I'm saying he didn't pay for the purchase of the squad cars, tax money did so it's not like this isn't at least a little bit of a waste of taxpayer's money
