I was out of town for the last two Gonzales Shows but will be heading to New Orleans on the 17th. Can anyone share their thoughts on the turnout in Gonzales and the availability and pricing of ammo and mags at the show?

mags should have come down in price since you can find mags on the shelves now in all of the stores like Academy, Cabela's etc. Ammo should also be coming down in price. I have seen 1,000 rounds of .223 for under 400 dollars recently. That is pretty close to being back to normal with prices.

Outstanding. The last show I was able to go, there was a line out the door for the ammo guy, and there was heavy gouging.

I went to the Mandeville show a couple of weekends ago. The prices were high as balls on a giraffe and I was disappointed in the selection there.

I wasn't expecting much being it was the Mandeville show, which further describes my disappointment.

I went to the recent one in Gonzales. Very few deals. The prices were the same as the stores. Its not worth going to them in my opinion. For example, Glocks were $599 at show and Hebert's was running a special the same day on Glocks for $509.

Ammo was expensive. I remember bulk 9mm was close to $.45/round.

$.45 for bulk 9mm? I remember it being even higher but thought those days were behind us.

My head hurts thinking about CTD selling .223 at $1. bums

When I went to Gonz show early this year I remember when the companies there wanted $75 for 223 mags. Got a box of them from cajunammo for under $13.

Ammo still seems to be more hit or miss on pricing rather than stable.

Kenner Show was not very well attended. It seems smaller than Lamar Dixon. There was a domestic dispute in the parking lot that was kinda entertaining until Kenner Police squared it away. One guy had fantastic Jerkey...best I've had in a long time, and T-Shirt guy had awesome shirts! "Got Bullets..." Priceless!

Academy in Laffy had unlimited .223 back on the regular shelves today. Don't overpay at a show.

Speaking of... does anyone have any experience with Aguila ammo? Looking at buying a few boxes from the website.

Aguila is good ammo. Smells like Mexicans and spin-off of Remington (if that matters to you)
