I know you didn't really fall for that cop out. Miles should have just said "He [Hill] spoke in front of the team and after that conversation, I decided that the young man had served is punishment by being removed from the program for the entire summer"

Saying that the players voted him back on the squad is a bit of a joke.

Meh, do you think he let the team vote to kick Tyrann off? If he really felt that Hill should be kicked off, he'd have done it himself and not let it up to vote. And I really don't think its that uncommon for college coaches to let the team vote on forgiving a player and allowing him to return.

And FWIW, I still don't think Hill will play against TCU so Patterson's comments are pretty pointless

I hope Hill doesn't play but Miles puts him in to take the knee. Would be pretty funny.

Rangers voted immediately to let Cruz return. That part I agree with GP, only because, what do you expect them to do?

BTW: in HS, while a freshman, our starting qb got caught having a beer, team voted to kick him off, and he was a good guy, only time I've ever heard of this

Gary Patterson is using the media to guilt Les into suspending Hill, mainly for the TCU game.
Les needs to suspend Hill, but say he decided to wait after the TCU game because of Gary Pattersons whiny comments.

So what's your point? As a HC does he actually think Hill's teammates would vote himoff the team? IMO,No.

CLM could have explained the entire situation differently and it wouldn't look like such a cop out to the majority of folks.

Also, I don't think Hill plays a down against TCU.

This

Does anyone think Miles didn't know what the outcome of the vote was gonna be? If he wanted him suspended he would have just suspended him or kicked him off the team. Everyone knows that no college player is going to be kicked off the team unless he is just hated. The kids stick together. Miles wanted Hill to stay so he let the team "vote" so they would feel like they were part of the process and so that Hill knew he was accepted by his teammates. It lets the kids feel like they are invested in the future of the team.
