I wish people would understand the team voted on reinstatement, not on punishment. And yes, that was a foregone conclusion. And they may have had conditions of their own.
On that note, as much as fans of our foes like to make Miles out to be a complete idiot his "process" in these matters are masterful.
By refusing to state the punishment, much to the chagrin of media and trolls alike, he both gives himself wiggle room (I'd like to think to adjust to Hill's attitude as we move forward) and continues the precedent of not answering to anyone but his boss(es) and to some degree his players/staff. We know Miles uses the phrase "internal" quite a bit. Well, he means it. It's internal (because Hill is cleared in the legal arena) and he's sticking too it.
I use the analogy of a congressional representative. If your congressman votes for a bill that you don't like, he doesn't get recalled or impeached. Somebody, somewhere isn't going to like everything he does. Similar to Miles, if the powers that be don't like what he does in these cases and his track record is bad, his contract will not be extended.
