Payton did help turn Quincy Carter into a decent QB as well. With that said, this one is still too close to call. Both are great offensive minds & really good head coaches.

Forgot about this. Turning "Q" into anything serviceable is a huge feat. But Parcells was in that as well.
Payton also took a gamble and won. Brees over Culpepper at the time. Huge arm vs. OK arm. A bad knee on a guy who knew he was getting too old to be mobile anyway vs. a guy whose throwing shoulder rotator cuff exploded.
McCarthy DID make a transition from a stud HOF QB to another. Which almost never happens. Ask the Denver Broncos.
