Lamar Odom was a very good player back then. Arguably better than West, All-Star appearances or not.
If you want to judge a player's quality by an arbitrary award, I can't stop you. Though I do think McGrady and Yao are still receiving All-Star votes

Hell even luke walton was decent enough for the lakers at one point

This is a hard question. IF the question was right now, then the obvious answer is Paul. Let's say instead of Jrue and EG we had David West and signed Paul Millsap this summer. We would be a championship contender IMO.
There is really no correct answer for "in the long run." If you gage the long run as this year and championship contenders then ya it's Paul.
If you gage it by potential to have a dynasty, and actually win a championship not just contend for one then its AD. The argument being that Big Men have shown a more consistent ability to delivery championships with less talent than PG's.
