Could this be a hint that we feel Oden will not be signed? Withey could have been shipped overseas like Jackson if there were no minutes for him here.

I'm no expert on all of this like 42 or ATL but I don't think so. Withey was never going overseas IMO. He could be a D-Leaguer a bit this year if we sign Oden or can be the 12th or 13th guy on the roster.

No, we actually need to fill up our roster spots. By my count we have 13 with Withey on the roster. That is the minimum.
I think most teams would like to have 14 on the roster with one spot open.
