Yep. The SR40c is a double stack.

But it is nearly dimensionally identical to my SR9c. The only real difference is that the slide is slightly beefier. So that may add a little less than an inch in height.

I think the XDs or Shield will do the trick just fine. I also really like my Kahr CM9, which is also made in a CM40 and CM45. But it doesn't have any safety features - just a long trigger.
