Crazy, how is the 2 in the 4-4-2 supposed to work? Like, what kind of pairing are we looking for?
Personally I loved the Jozy/Davies pairing because you had the physical one and the speedy one. (ETA: And more swag than will ever be seen again on the USMNT)
That said, Jozy is pretty fast.
I think Johannson is more of a poacher, although he has proven that he can create as well. He seems like a rich man's Wondolowski, to be honest.

In my view, you should have two players who do different things. In England you have the classic tall man/target man-small man/poacher combo, but the variations are endless. But the target man/poacher combo is timeless, as is pairing a deep lying forward with a poacher, or a deep lying forward with a targetman. The problems arise when the players do the same thing, except if you have two targetmen, but only the most brutish of teams and styles employ this variation.
I really loved the Jozy/Davies combo too, as they seemed to have a decent understanding, and it allowed Jozy to be more aggressive, since he knew he had immediate support. Oh what could have been.
This would be perfect for Jozy. He's pretty much settled as a target striker even though when he first started out he played wide. I'll watch Johannson soon, but if he's a poacher, then he can slot in nicely. It would be amazing if he could play across the front 3 or behind the striker, as that would give us variation.
