100k Salary with 70k at total after taxes (Which I really think it would be more like 75-80 after your itemized deductions, but we'll go with 70k)... Thats is $5833 a month to spend. I'll use your numbers and bold the ones I change

Mortage + Escrow: 1500
Car: 450
TV/Internet: 100
Water/Gas: 75
Energy: 150 Average for yr and that may be high
Security System: 45
Gasoline: 250
Groceries: 300
Car ins in LA: 200
Student Loans: 200 Thats around 30k in loans
Cell Phone: 80

That totals up to $3350

$5833 - $3350 = $2483

Lets say 1k of that goes into Roth/401k

You still have $1483 a month for other things. That is not bad off in any way whatsoever.
