Supposedly a 13 hour fight to which there is argument the fish was as good as dead upon being landed. On the other hand, that's an excessively long time to fight the fish. Bigger get landed routinely in less than half or even a quarter of that time. Makes me think that they were using too light of tackle or that the Captain could have done more... Or it could simply be that the story has been embellished a bit. Either way, a hell of a fish and the woulda, coulda and shouldas don't mean much now..

13 hours has to be a typo. That's a long fricking time to fight a fish.
