It was very workman-like. Nothing "sexy" about it that screamed he should be on the USA team.

Drummond would get it in the post, get his shot blocked, then lay the loose ball up. Or he'd be the only one under the goal for a rebound after a missed 3-pt-er or a missed FT attempt by the other team. Multiple times he had the ball stripped from him. Doesn't seem to have strong hands. Defensively, he didn't seem all that dominant either in this game. Looked kind of plodding when Cousins blew past him.

Don't get me wrong. I'd take him as a tandem with AD, but I think Greg Monroe is the more advanced player on both ends of the court than Drummond. Monroe had like 3 defensive stops in a row, then made a sweet spinning post move.

I agree that drummond did not look great yesterday, but he was the youngest (or 2nd behind MKG) player in the NBA last year. The athletic ability is apparent, he just needs time to develop.
