Not too optimistic about the Mariners getting anything worthwhile for Ibanez, Saunders, Harang, Morse, or Bay. The Orioles deal for K-Rod makes me think Perez could be dealt, I'm sure some contender could use a legitimate 7th or 8th inning LHP.

Braves are or were looking at Furbush, I guess.

Loved getting Delmonico for a guy we signed for nothing. He goes from a top 4-6 prospect for the Orioles to a top 3 prospect for the Brewers.

Braves will get a draft pick for McCann. This team is trying to win. No reason to make it significantly worse to get a couple of prospects

I used to be in the trade McCann boat, but it doesn't make much sense anymore. He's probably our best/most consistent offensive player behind Freeman right now.

If there ever would have been a time to trade McCann, it would've been after last year, but he was hurt so you wouldn't get full value.

It is crazy for a playoff team to trade one of the best players two months before the playoffs start.

He's got a few years left so obviously the Mariners would prefer to deal Perez. Like Furbush a lot, he's similar to Perez in that he can get RH batters out as well.

I figured the return for Perez would be the typical toolsy prospect who has almost no shot or the 24 y/o at AAA who will never be good enough to make the 25 man roster. I know they won't get a guy like Delmonico but just a prospect that would be at the end of the Mariners top 10 would be nice.

Apparently the White Sox turned down an Alexei Ramirez for Carlos Martinez swap with the Cards.

You would look good in a James Russell.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that the Rangers have expressed interest in Alejandro De Aza.

Texas is also courting White Sox outfielder Alex Rios. De Aza, 29, is batting .275/.332/.437 with 12 homers and 11 stolen bases in 93 games this season for Chicago. He carries more years of contractual control than Rios but Rios has the better offensive track record. As always, it's going to come down to the asking price

I think the De Aza thing is all smoke. The Rangers need a big righty bat. I think Rios fits that. I really think they should make a run at Joey Bats.

Epstein and Hoyer have had "the talk" with Alfonso Soriano and he's agreed to a list of teams to be traded away to. The Yankees are on that list.

The Rangers will take one Morales, please. Rios would be nice, but he is kind of inconsistent and expensive.

And no to Ibanez. Too old and he is a left hand bat. The Rangers have too many of those.

11:10pm: The Rangers are not currently pursuing De Aza, Morosi tweets.

7:17pm: The Rangers have also set their sights on Giants right fielder Hunter Pence, and Mariners designated hitter Kendrys Morales to fill a need for a right-handed bat, baseball sources tell Jeff Wilson of the Star-Telegram. Unlike Rios, Pence and Morales are only signed through the remainder of this season. It's also worth noting that while the White Sox are sure to be sellers, that's not the case with San Francisco or Seattle.

I hope they get Morales for my fantasy purposes, he rakes and in that shitty lineup in Seattle too.
