VooDoo, Krewe, etc, were just too corny and even more locally specific and subject to possible ridicule than the Pelicans.

The Pelicans actually works pretty well for me, and that's not just rationalizing (even though I was pimping for the Brass). The Pelicans works, and everyone will come to love it except, perhaps, pimple dicks.

At first I was did not really like the Pelicans but I did like it better than the choices they were choosing from...

Now I love the Pelicans...I think it is the us against them feeling from people making fun of the name...

Best way to shut everybody up is to WIN..

I have to disagree. Krewe is a fantastic name that is locally UNIQUE. People hated my Devil's advocate routine, but it was quite indicative of the reaction thus far. Those two MAY have been ridiculed, but we know for certain that Pelicans WAS/IS ridiculed. We're just going to have to get used to hearing shite about it.

Krewe was a much, much better option, in my opinion, but that ship has sailed. Now I just have to fight against the oral farts that are Pels and Pellies.

I was on team Brass as well. Pelicans was probably my second choice. And I was also the only one who liked Spirits.
