quote:heres the problem, all the above bolded players are all on at least their 2nd team. they all have their issues or they would still be with their original teams. think about it-- teams dont ship out franchise cornerstones unless their hands are completely tied.
nto a core of Jrue Holiday(23), Eric Gordon(24), Tyreke Evans(23), Anthony Davis(20), Ryan Anderson(25) and Austin Rivers(20)
but i would agree, demps has turned over a shitty roster into pieces/assets, but there are very few chancey billups out there who dont work out at the first stop, but figure it out later and become a (borderline super) star. but the road is littered with guys who showed flashes of brilliance but flame out and bounce around the league

Jrue was traded from the Sixers because they are tanking for Wiggins. If they still had Jrue they would have been better but still not playoff caliber.
Gordon was traded here in the CP3 trade.
Tyreke came here in a sign and trade for Vasquez. Kings FO knew it was time to move on and so did Tyreke.
Anderson came here in a sign and trade for Gustovo Ayon... I guess Orlando didn't want to pay Ryno 8 mil/year.

Holiday, Gordon, Evans and Anderson all "worked out" very well at their first stops, they aren't trying to "figure it out." Those guys are well established in the league. Demps didn't take fliers on scrubs hoping they'd turn it around like Billups.
quote:We're not, so i guess we're good
you can justify them all you want, but if youre expecting any of those guys to be perennial all NBA performers, youre dreaming.
quote:I'd like to find the team who's 4th best player is coming off an all star appearance. If Jrue Holiday is a championship team's 4th best player, that team's winning 70 games.
jrue is a nice player, but what it comes down to is: is it a championship level team with him as the 3rd best player? i dont think so. 4th?
quote:Literally NOBODY is talking about building around Gordon.
gordon is always hurt. yall can keep building around him, but deep down yall know he cant be counted on
quote:Maybe, but thats total guess work. He played for a clown franchise that switched coaches every year, with broke owners, and the most selfish roster in the league.
tyreke can score the ball on a bad team. he doesnt do the little things(defense!!) to be a big time player on a legit team.
quote:And again...nobody's building around Ryan Anderson...
yes, ryno makes too much money. hes a nice piece, but build around him? no thanks...
Anthony Davis, Anthony Davis, Anthony Davis, Anthony Davis. Thats who this whole thing revolves around. Those other guys are just supporting pieces.
