LOL...no!

They aren't going to cut out retailers 100% because they still need them to move hardware more than anything. Retailers make nothing on the hardware. Like $10 total or something crazy. They make it up on game and accessory sells. You take away games and now a retailer has zero incentive to spend money and shelf space to stock your hardware.


THQ is merely an example of a large publisher closing. I didn't say it was directly due to used games but it's naive to think that didn't hurt them.

uhh if they are eventually moving to all digital games, and all signs point that way, it shouldn't matter if the retailers get pissed about hardware sales giving mediocre returns.

Its not like Sony or Microsoft make profit off console sales either BTW. All their systems sold at a loss from the get go. Only Nintendo typically makes profit off each console sale and they deviated from that business model with the WiiU.
