Then again, the quality of the medical staff will matter.

We fricked

I'm not so sure. I may be ready to change my negative stance on the training staff. Team USA wouldn't let just anyone fill the training position for them, so Ishop being invited says a lot. On top of that we found out after the fact that Gordon started seeing his own doctors and pretty much controlled his medical process on his own after he thought team doctors were trying to sand bag him in the middle of contract negotiations. If you throw Gordon out and Team USA in, the Pelicans medical staff doesn't look as bad. As long as Oden isn't afraid of catching a sports hernia from a Saints player, I think the medical situation should be seen as a positive, especially with the new training facility.

I also think Jester is completely right about this:

Every report and leak has each team, sans the Heat, offering the max that they can per year. I think it's dragging out because that's not the case. His agents keep trying to push up the market and are waiting for someone to flinch and pony up

Everything we've heard from unnamed sources make it sound like teams are ready to go all in on Oden as if he were healthy. Sourced reports say "I wish him the best" and he's not cleared for 5 on 5 action. We also know that every team tied to him besides the Pelicans and Kings have been tied to other FA centers recently. In other words they were still checking the market while Oden was this supposedly hot commodity ready to come in and make an impact. It all adds up to agent propaganda.

Think he chooses NO or SA, more stable organization in the future. Not to say that obviously the Heat aren't a great franchise, but they've got a lot of question with a potential complete roster overhaul minus Lebron possible in the next year or so. So his role for the future should be more clearly defined with those teams, just a matter of what type of team he wants a win now or team on the upswing.
