There are very simple solutions if the SEC really had any interest in balancing the schedules or preserving tradition. They dont care about either.

1) Moving Bama and auburn to the East and Mizzou and UK to the west. All rivalries are preserved. Divisions are hugely unbalanced, but hey, its all cyclical, right Bama?

OR:

2) Rotate all opposite division matchups equally. If UT/Bama or UGA/AU want to keep their annual game, let them. When they arent part of the rotation they can still be played as OOC games that dont reflect any SEC standings. Preserves the rivalry and still balances the SEC schedule. Then if UT ever gets good again, we'll see how important that "rivalry" really is.

Nothing will happen to change this until the SEC starts getting some heat from ESPN and the national media. If the media decides to make this their pet agenda like they did with college football playoffs, instant replay, black coaches, defensive players winning the Heisman, running Penn State's football program into the ground over the Sandusky scandal, etc, then it could change.

This is why it will change. Now that it is out, when comes time to pick another SEC team besides the Champion for the BCS this year or the playoffs the BIG PAC 12 BIG 12 ACC media outlets will scream look at how easy their SEC Schedule was.

If the same thing happens this year as in 2011 can't you see them saying Bama didn't play anyone in the SEC but LSU.

Also lool at the Schedule for the SEC and find 3 good games of interest nationally on November 23, Sept 21, and Oct 26.

Do you think ESPN paid billions for this BS.

Well, I'm sorry, but if you think ESPN and the national media are going to do this and potentially damage one of their top darlings, you are highly mistaken.

All you have to do is look at 2011:

Their darling Bama beat only three FBS teams with a winning record, one of which was 7-5. EIGHT teams on their 12 game schedule were 6-6 or worse.

Despite this ridiculously easy schedule, Bama finished THIRD in the SEC and STILL got in the title game because of the media.

Let that sink in: LSU in 2011 beat as many teams IN THE TOP 5 than Bama beat that were better than 6-6.

Amazing, really. But that's the life of a media darling in CFB, a sport that is owned and run by the media.
