Forget about the underground wire... Its a pain in the arse. I have the box that sends the signal out however far you need it. Works great.

My lab chewed my trailer wires twice... the second time, I beat him him with a trailer wire until he had no desire to ever look at a wire again. Then poured cayenne all over the wires and put them in his mouth.

This is kind of cruel but I have heard of plugging in extension cords and letting them chew on it until they get smoked to teach them as well.

No more trailer wire problems for me.
