If can see if one jumps in and out of the market, but why should a long term but and hold investor JIHP?

wegotdatwood you get .85 per share x 84 shares so like close to $70 worth of shares so like 75%+ of 1 share. Would have been nice for the price to stay low for tomorrow but the last 2 days have been a big run up and now the dividend will be paid in the $90s instead of $86 or $87.

Buying and holding doesn't mean jumping in and out. He will says you get more $/shares with dividends when the market is down. If it goes up, you can on the share and gain "less" on divs but most likely the the div would be higher.
