Heading to Sunset Beach NC in early August which is almost to SC.
Was looking to do some fishing while I'm down there open to charter, wade, or even flounder gigging.
Anyone on the OB familiar with this area at all and can give me any tips or information would be much appreciated.
TIA

I go there every year for vacation. I usually troll for spanish mackerel on spoons out there. The inter coastal waterway is a good spot to fish especially around the marshes. Ive taken a charter out of little river before with good luck but my family has a boat we take out of our beach house.

I was watching "Flats Class" on Sportsman channel the other day and they were smackin the reds in Charleston. The guy said the tidal range is 5-7 feet!

Long run to the Gulf Stream from there for billfish. You can catch some mahi within an hour or so of the beach from SB though.
I'd look to do some inshore fishing while there. Reds and specs aren't like the La marsh but can be had if you can track them down. The flounder should be hammering the live bait. Most can be had from a dock, jetty, or ditchbank where you can get to the moving water. I used to catch a decent mess sitting on the boat ramp launch at Masonboro Inlet just north of there.
I don't know any inshore guys that far down but if Jimmy Price is still running out of Southport, he could probably put you on some flatties.
