Luckily for you that the Heat is your favorite team.

All i'm going to say is: This is not the spurs model. The spurs won their championships with most of their salary invested in Cs. Last year, maybe by the end of the year, they had 7 guards. 5 of those guys were all backups(shooters) to the primary 1 and 2 in manu and parker.
I smell a trade for ego coming up. If we can't get anything for him until sometime next season, it may be then. If Dell has any sense, he's not going to keep all this money locked up in the backcourt.
You don't remember the Stephen Jackson/Richard Jefferson deals that they made? They were paying their backcourt anywhere form 30 mil to 36+ mil since 2010.

You realize the reason why this is was because they had Tim Duncan, not because they went out and decided to invest a bunch of money in centers. The Spurs model to winning is and was not to go out there load up and allocate the bulk of their money in centers.
Draft well, develop, make smart signings, and most importantly, play defense.

Point? They are backcourt players.

Pretty sure that is what every team in the league is doing. It's not a particular model.
I was just refuting the argument that EG, Jrue, Tyreke, Rivers, Morrow, etc. = Spurs model, like posters were saying
eta - i'm going to leave it at that and watch everything else unfold
eta 2 - I really think without Gordon and with morrow being the primary backup 3 point shooter + another 3 point shooter, we're looking awesome

I fixed it for you.
It's definitely not a particular model... it's flat out common sense. Obviously some do it way better than others. And looking at the teams that have struggled over the past decade, some can't do it at all. So while it's cliche-ish, generic, and sounds easy, not even a caveman can do it. Ask Michael Jordan.

On that same note, saying their model was to load up salary on centers was even worse.

Yep
Anyway, the dude's a pel now. Any clue why the double digit career scorer slipped so bad last season? 27 years old is a time one would usually start producing more.

Have to say that I don't worry about the 3, but I'm fricking really interested in what DelMonty has in mind at the 5. Of course, I don't believe a big name C is a necessity. Need one big body.
Sorry, I'm at my neighborhood bar . . . I'm rambling and fumbling w my phone.

He got 9 minutes per game. You expect him to score 10+ in limited minutes?

Crowded backcourt. Devin Harris, Korver, John Jenkins, Deshawn Stevenson, Louis Williams.

@McNamara247: Talked to a Hawks source. He said it was simply a numbers game with Morrow last year. Korver was better, Jenkins was younger. But he said

@McNamara247: That Morrow handles tough situation with class and never complained. Was easily the 2nd best shooter on the team & was liked in locker room
