1. Andrelton Simmons (R) SS
2. Jason Heyward (L) RF
3. Justin Upton (R) LF
4. Freddie Freeman (L) 1B
5. Brian McCann (L) C
6. Dan Uggla (R) 2B
7. B.J. Upton (R) CF
8. Chris Johnson (R) 3B
9. Tim Hudson (R) P

Let's take a second to talk about Jason Heyward. Overall, his numbers are ugly, but he's had a great June.

.300/.358/.480

He's still striking out a lot (22Ks to 8 BBs), but his hard hit balls are finding holes and he's getting on base at a good clip.

48 of his 73 total bases this year came in the last 28 days.

Let's hope he stays on the tear.

I support my fellow NegaBarve. We have to stick together in a world full of sunshine and homerism.

My #1 concern with Heyward is still his propensity to be a very productive player for 4 or 5 months and then be an easier out than a career AL relief pitcher for a couple of months.

2 week slumps are one thing, 2 month slumps are another.

You can have the today's thread. My thread would probably bring bad luck anyway.

What I don't understand about Heyward is that when he gets in slumps he shows zero power. When he's struggling he hits weak ground balls to the first baseman.

Heyward is to Whitie as Prado is to Swamps.

Wow. Lucky for them Rendon is hitting enough to overcome his bad defense at 2B so far.

It's really amazing the Nats are even over .500 given how bad their hitting and defense have been.

heyward is garbage. but of course I'm ONLY looking at his batting average, minus stats for June. DGAF about defense, or walks, or anything.
