I believe Hester worked hard, and in a lot of ways he epitomized the type of player you want on your team. it just seems as though he's held up as someone who was "lacking" in physical gifts so he had to put in so much more work to succeed. the dude had good - maybe not great - measurables. 5'11", 225 with a 4.6 40 (his combine numbers) is nothing to sneeze at.
I don't agree that the LSU version of Jamarcus rested on his talent. even the most ardent JR fan probably didn't think he could put up those 06 numbers after watching him as a freshman (or hell as a soph for that matter). that took WORK, not just maturity or better WRs (and Lasik - ha). he had to put in time to make the improvements he did. the NFL version is a whole 'nother thread...
