Jordan Zakarin of Buzzfeed, being a genius, asked disaster expert Charles Watson and his crew at Watson Technical Consulting andKinetic Analysis Corp. to prepare estimates. Watson’s conclusion: Superman’s battle killed 129,000 people and injured 1 million, an impact on the scale of the nuclear attack on Nagasaki. It caused $750 billion in physical damage; 9/11, by contrast, caused $55 billion in physical damage. (The damage to Manhattan in “The Avengers” is estimated at around $160 billion.) Let's use footage reminiscent of 9/11 to add emotional impact to our film.
This is probably an unpopular view on here, but I thought this movie was terrible. One of the worst movies I've seen in a while, but to be fair I haven't seen After Earth.

Aside from the blatant advertising (ihop, sears, 7/11) an a few cheesy lines and the first 5 minutes of the movie (shitty rear screen projection) I liked this movie
If aliens invade earth, there are going to be serious casualties. Those numbers are not bad compared to what was at stake.
