re: Matt Flynn doesn't impress Ron Jaworski

That's fine, he and Steve Young are the most idiotic analyst in football. Steve Young especially, he is an idiot and never says anything with substance that would contribute to the matter at hand. It blows my mind that they were once successful (extremely so) in the NFL. I think that goes to show that a QB's intelligence is very overhyped and talked about mostly to self congratulate.

Rohan and Flynn didn't ever win the starting position in practice over their major competition, but in games, they shined bright.
ETA:
Booty and JRock
They both won the starting position.
Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about. Booty beat out Rohan a couple times and Jamarcus beat out Flynn (though JRock is an absurd talent).

You might not agree with Steve's football analyst abilities, but to call that guy an idiot is completely asinine. Pretty damn intelligent man.

Steve Young received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School.[citation needed] He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Letters at Utah Valley State College for speaking at its graduation ceremonies in 2005.
Young serves as a managing director of Huntsman Gay Global Capital[15] after being involved in business ventures with this private equity firm founded by billionaire industrialist Jon M. Huntsman and former Bain Capital executive Robert C. Gay, also a co-founder of Sorenson Capital, in Lehi, Utah. Young also sat on the board of Foundry Networks before it was acquired by Brocade Communications Systems in 2008.

and both won out the starting jobs their next seasons.
Also, in the seasons that Flynn played behind JR, he looked like shite with the exception of the Miami game
He went into Tenn and LSU went backwards. He went into the Iowa game and played horrible. He went into the MSU game after JR dominated and threw a pick 6

That's ok. Ron Jaworski didn't impress me when he played...

He got his JD from Bringham YOUNG (which he is related to) University where he was god after being maybe the best athlete to ever attend that school and after he already had a hall of fame NFL career. I'm not saying he cheated his way to it but don't sit here and tell me he must be smart because got a law degree from BYU after a long successful football career. Also, an honorary degree does not speak to his intelligence and he only got said degree because he is Steve Young. And as far as his business ventures, all made possible because of fame. None of the above would have happened without his remarkable physical abilities as a football player.

Google does. Not hard to figure out when a famous person got a degree.

I think he was pretty damn on point here:
quote:
“How do I start here? I can say this because the league officials have gone to sleep. Lemme just go right at this: There’s a lot of people in the league who would rather break the union. There’s a lot of people who don’t feel like the officiating is on-field personnel, they feel like it’s a commodity. But more importantly, everything about the NFL now, it’s inelastic for demand. There’s nothing that they can do to hurt the demand for the game. So the bottom line is, they don’t care. Player safety? Doesn’t matter in this case. Bring the Division 3 officials? Doesn’t matter. Because in the end, you’re still gonna watch the game, we’re gonna all complain and moan, and gripe and say there’s all these problems, and all the coaches will say it, the players will say it… Doesn’t matter. So just go ahead, gripe all you want, I’m gonna rest. Let them eat cake.” Read more at

I think Flynn just doesn't do that well in practice situations, but gets an extra edge in real game situations and does well.

Oh yeah, giant investment firms really hire people because of fame to run their company. Are you that dense? They don't give a frick about fame. They make more money than most famous people.

If MF has the players around him he can be quite successful in the NFL. He's head smart with enough talent to make plays on the field.
I cannot believe he's 28 and still has never been a starting QB. There are so any bad QB's starting with Flynn still waiting for his turn.

Didn't Jaworski have like one good year in a 15 year career? He went to one Super Bowl and now he gets to have an opinion.
Actually Jaws had a very good stretch from 1975-83. However SB 15(Flynn's #)....RAIDERS 27, Eagles 10

sitting on the board more often than not, has zero to do with operating most businesses, it's usually a figurehead position occupied by people of some notoriety, or someone being politically, or nepotistically rewarded/bought off
