Simeone is a damn good coach. That first 11 is as good as any in the world. It's not like they won't be able to find replacements. If Simeone stays they will compete every couple of years, but that's a big if. And by the time Santi is done with his contract he'll be 32. I'm not worried about him looking past that time, since we treat over 30 players not named Rosicky pretty poorly.

true. and i don't disagree he's a damn good coach, but that club isn't in great shape at all, financially ( LINK). i just don't think they can compete consistently, even with Simeone, because of that massive gap.

true, i'm not worried about santi in two years. i have to think Rosicky's long-term injury, which means he has significantly less mileage on his legs, is the only reason we treated him so nicely. kinda wish we hadn't, but hopefully, Wenger (or whoever replaces him) will utilize him as the super-sub and occasional starter that he is.
