We've been saving money for the last eight years. The first year we actually come into money, and you guys don't want to invest? That is needlessly and dangerously conservative. It's not like if Suarez doesn't work out we won't be able to afford our wages. We are in a strong financial position, and we wouldn't spend the money, or even think about spending the money if we couldn't make it back easily.

So you're saying we could afford an even better talent next year at that position?

Name a better talent at striker than Luis Suarez that a team would even entertain selling.

Well it will probably pretty hard to find a striker in his prime at 40mil. What if next year comes and that is the going rate, assuming same age and contract length? Suarez is a great player, but there are windows when no players of his caliber move at all.

Lets say we buy Suarez and then suddenly Fabregas decides he wants to come back to Arsenal. You don't think we could easily afford both? We've increased our commercial revenue by 60mil per season, we have a transfer kitty of 70 mil and cash reserves of 200 mil. We can basically afford any player that would come into the transfer market.
