I've made my theory on club allegiances known before, but I'll go again.
First, unless you have some geographic connection to a team, any club allegiance, to me, is pretty trivial, at least at first.
I started really following soccer in 2009 when I quit playing basketball, and I picked Chelsea because that's who I always played with on FIFA.
Then, I got sick of Chelsea's douchery, so I followed Fulham for a bit because of Dempsey.
When Dempsey left, I pretty much spent last year observing from a distance. The only team that I found any interest in was Arsenal, for many reasons, the biggest being I really couldn't find one thing I really didn't like about the club. Every other club had its flaw, in my book.
I had a buddy who was an Arsenal fan, so I went and watched a few matches with him, and just got hooked.
In the process, my theory has kind of evolved. I'm actually developing a genuine loyalty to Arsenal, whereas I used to just kind of follow a team arbitrarily based on players I liked.
But Wenger's approach to football, Arsenal's image, the players, the system, the whole brand really connects with me now, and I've been hooked since.

I had always been an arsenal fan, but i would follow other clubs as well, bayern, barca, ajax, inter and watch as many games as possible. But since i work a lot now, i really just follow Arsenal. i cant even watch other teams now adays. Same with football, i just cant get into watching anyone but LSU play. I get bored. I think the not winning in so long has strengthened my fandom. every year my friends would say now way Arsenal gets top 4, yet every year they do. Plus the chelsea and man city fans just started coming out of the woodwork and I had to stand by my team that won enough without breaking the bank and changing managers every fricking season.
Plus Arsene reminds me of Les, or Les reminds me of Arsene. They are stubborn to a fault, have their own fans question them and have fans of other teams bash them. Yet when everyone thinks either team will just fall off to the dark days, they dont.
It has truly made these seasons so emotionally up and down that i love it. Love the drama the encompasses following both teams.

Nothing better in the world than watching the beautiful game. And rt now, Arsene has Arsenal playing like that. I was on the edge of my seat the whole dortmund game. I fricking fell asleep in the stadium when LSU played furman.

Exactly. The unpredictable nature of how and when a match deciding goal will occur just creates so much drama. A team can completely dominate a match and lose. If LSU runs for 400 yards and has a 40 to 20 minutes time ofpossession advantage there is no way they lose a game.

Well just about 24 hours from now we will know. I'm glad I have the LSU/Bama game to distract me. Otherwise I might start hyper ventilating.

I'm emotionally checked out from UF football but this Vandy loss still has me depressed. could use a W tomorrow.
will be interested to see what our lineup is tomorrow. he's got some interesting selection choices to make with flamini and Jack back. on the road, I'd expect rosicky to be sacrificed for flamini

I'm thinking the same. The Rooney/RVP combo justifies that for sure. I'm so ready. That loss is a fricking killer for Muschamp. Is he going to survive?

the rational part of me says yes, because the D is still fricking good. I think he's forced to hire a good OC and relent on his offensive style.
on the other hand, this is worse than any zook team and I hate muschamp and his style regardless of success, similar to how Real fans hated Mou. would like to see him gone and an offensive coach hired. briles plz
