Don't call me Shirley.
Me too, but I have been wrong enough guessing outcomes of this wacky game to just say, "who knows"?

We will still be forced to play some good players. Could sneak out a win. What happens in a tie? OT then pks?

Entirely too strong for my liking

surprised to see ramsey, wilshere, cazorla in the starting lineup.

wilshere
no arteta or flamini and he was a sub saturday. he was going to start.

cazorla
we've handled him with kid gloves so far. i'd imagine he play 60-70 and subs out for Ozil (if we need to score) or Hayden (if we lead)

If we are going to throw them out there, lets win this fricking match.

Not surprised with carzola. He hasn't played much. Figured haydan would start though. Still some quality here.

Stupid to play ramsey 90 and sub in ozil and giroud imo.. whatever though

rambo only played 80. i don't think it was that stupid. 30 minutes for those guys isn't that bad and they didn't pick up a knock.

proud to have been on #TeamBaccy last season because Jenkinson is not a very good player*
*has potential to be a solid player, but desperately needs a loan spell for PT

Miyachi and Jenkinson both played poorly. Also Bendnter is awful. Bad luck on the first goal and a great shot by Mata on the second. Was mostly pleased with the Jack Rambo axis.

i agree. they really never threatened in open play (until we started going all out at the end). rambo and jack recovered well and broke up their counters effectively.

If there is one thing to take away from this match it's that Jack and Aaron have learned how to play with each other.
We have to avoid situations where teams can break us on the counter, as well as any situation where the 2nd ball is in question. In open play we are excellent both offensively and defensively. But we are terrible at breaking up the counter attack and off situations like set pieces where our positioning can be confused.

Jenkinson hasn't played regular football in nearly a year.. he was in better form than sagna last season before he was benched.
Since then they've clearly went in different directions though.
And yeah I'm sticking with my assessment of playing Ramsey that much today being stupid, he's looked tired already the last few matches

Well Sagna had his leg broken twice in one year.

Been watching some videos tonight while sipping on some cabernet. I really think our belief as a TEAM started with with the win at the Allianz last spring. Adding Ozil has only helped our mentality. We are good and will be in it to the end for the BPL title.
I LOVE THIS TEAM...

I do too, but injuries have been plaguing us for several years. Still need a striker. If giroud goes down we can kiss any trophies good bye.

it wouldn't be good by any means, but i'm not sure it'd be a death knell (so long as it wasn't a long-term injury). we have some interesting options to deploy if Giroud ever went one. the more obvious and conservative ones would be to play Poldi or Theo up top, which may work better than it has in the past with Ozil. especially Theo now that we seem to be leaning a little more towards the counterattacking side of things. there is another option though which kind of intrigues me, especially after watching the first half of Germany-Ireland the other day: Ozil as the nominal false 9. it was only Ireland, but he worked well at that position, plus it gets Ozil and Santi both on the pitch in central, if free-to-roam, roles.
