That's true, but I didn't have that opinion until confronted with a third of the ones we sold coming back with defects. No other shotguns had anything even remotely like that kind of problems.

I've got friends that love them. And if you get lucky enough to find a gun you love, more power to you, but in my experience, the odds are much less in your favor of that with a mossberg vs any other shotgun. Hopefully they've improved since the nineties when I was selling them, but that impression is pretty much permanent with me now.

What were the problems? In case I need to look out for something.

700+ rds and never a hiccup w/ mine. It's also been used by our military for a few years now(not that it makes it perfect or anything).

I have an 835 and the gun is ok but it's heavy as can be, doesn't shoulder well, and a couple of times I've had it jam on me. Had to take it and hit the butt of the stock on a tree while holding the front grip to get the thing to cycle.

That's enough for me.
