I just see most LSU hitters trying to pull the ball. I thought the general practice was "go with the ball." During Bregman's at-bat in the 8th yesterday, he got an outside breaking ball and pulled it to the SS. Isn't that the scenario with guys on and IF shading, that you go opposite field....just knock it between 1B and 2B...i thought that was fundamental hitting and LSU just doesn't seem to take the same approach up and down the lineup....minus Laird...

Easier said than done. Especially if he was fooled by the pitch and was out in front. this would make him pull it. doesnt have to do with fundamentals.

Yeah, if hitting were this easy, succeeding 30% of the time wouldn't make you one of the best hitters in the game.

Baby Sam - I said the same thing after Bregman's AB. We were not going with the pitch and punching the ball to the opposite field. Damn double plays and pop ups/pop flys killed any momentum. I was stunned by the lack of hitting discipline from some of our usually reliable hitters. Just made me ill. I'm sure our guys were much more down on themselves, so I'll let them learn from this and get better next season.
