Top of the line in terms of craftsmanship, but not so much in fishability IMO. Fished out of a 25' before and really didnt like it, the dam T-top took up most of the deck area and you couldn't cast.
Will take my Blazer Bay out anyday and catch just as much fish for 1/4 the price!

They don't really handle a chop too well. There's several boats I'd buy before one though. Most are way cheaper too.

LSU Mike has one and loves it. I think he actually works during the day though so you won't hear from him til tonight.

friend just got out of a nasty deal with blazer bay.
Boat had stress cracks brand new. Sent it back and they drilled holes in the cracks to stop em, called the boat "new" and sent it back to him as new hull, forgot to patch some of the holes.... boats with holes done float so well.

Thats fricked up if so, I bought mine used, so never dealt with them personally but everyone I talk to has nothing but praise about their customer service. I would tell him to start a thread on thehulltruth with pics and backstory. there's tons of company reps on there and I would call them out!

What's your budget? New/used?

No Bueno- I would be royally pissed. The guys that own Blazer are pretty upstanding folks IMO- I met them when they hooked me up with a plant tour when I picked mine up a few years ago.
Historically, I've heard they are really good about honoring the warranty. But, on a new boat, I suspect they would try to repair first. Bad mistake, I think on their part- especially if they weren't 100% up front about the repair plan.

yea it was a screwed up deal.. ended up in court.
basically they tried to pawn off the same boat as a new boat, put new vin #'s on paperwork and shite too.
I have no clue how anyone in upper management could think that is a good idea.
Stories always have two sides of course but in the end, blazer had to buy the boat back.

Postin questions for a friend... Was looking at some used boats for him. I think he could go either way honestly if its relatively new and clean.
I would imagine he could do 50k range.

Shearwaters are overpriced and overrated IMO.
For the kinda money for a new one you could be looking at some really nice custom boats. And almost into Yellowfin category.

I have a 23 shearwater and love the boat. It's a drier boat than most but not the driest (blackjack and ranger come to mind). It handles chop the best when you throttle down and haul arse. I think most shearwater owners can attest to this.
