I think it's funny that people can't see that the nuke fridge is not the most ridiculous thing in a Indiana Jones film.
I know right?
Indy rides the top of a Nazi sub that dives underwater hundreds of miles to a secret location where peoples faces melt when a 1,000 year old box filled with sand opens up.
A man gets his heart ripped out in Temple of Doom and doesn't die until he is lowered into a pit of molten lava. Of curse it wasnt the lava that got him. It was the 50 foot flame that shot up which conveniently never came back when Kate Capshaw was being lowered in. This all came after he used a raft as a parachute to escape a plane.
In Last Crusade he walks around with a torch that is clearly dropping off flaming bits into water that turns out to be filled with petroleum. It only lights up when a guy uses a lighter on it and he somehow finds a passageway out of the death tunnel within 5 seconds of diving under and looking around. He then heals his father's gunshot wound with magic water after he walks across an invisible bridge.

I think the petroleum thing in Last Crusade is more ridiculous than the fridge. They were swimming in lit petroleum and had to have ingested a shite ton. Plus the fumes are just as flammable
Also every archeologist of Jones' level could speak German at that time period it was pretty much essential in dealing with art then.
Nevertheless Indy is my favorite character of all time and it was nice to see him back even though the movie was horse shite.
