Im making absolutely no sense at all?

Hell, lets go back and anlyze whether he was a bully in 3rd grade to try to justify 30 days in jail for a pat on the butt.
So you think him being in there for domestic abuse, violating his probation, and previously acting out in court shouldnt be taken into account by the judge?
quote:
I hope you get treated unfairly by people in authority a lot in your life to maybe change your ridiculous perspective here.
Damn dude.

Also, wait and see, this judge will likely either have to appologize or the 30 days will get overturned.
LOL.
Who is going to make her apologize?

He's absolutely right. If you can't see 30 days in jail for a pat on the arse is a judge abusing her power then I don't know what to tell you. Ocho messed up on his domestic issues, but he didn't deserve that.

the guy could have gone to jail for up to a year and the judge was willing to make a plea deal so he wouldnt have to. guy acted an arse and got dealt with.
when you violate your probation and go before the judge, you are on super thin ice.
go sit in a court room in nola or baton rouge and watch what usually happens when people violate their probation for even lesser charges. go sit in drug court and watch how many people just get sent straight to jail with no questions asked.

Wait and see.
You remember the judge that gave the girl a harsh sentence in the same Broward system a couple of months ago for being flippant and the video went viral and was posted here?
Well, he had to issue a public appology to her and his sentence was thrown thrown out and reversed.
Wait. And. See.

Yeah, I'm sure the Court of Appeals would make the judge apologize

no

You appear to be too dense to understand much of anything. I will assume you are not in a position of any power over anyone or any position that requires a modicum of common sense or decision making.
Anyway, I'm not wasting another second on your stupidity and nonsense, so ramble away if you like.

man judges have huge weight in PVs, at least in Louisiana. i see them routinely rule outside of pre-arranged plea bargains
violating parole or probation is "prepare your anus" territory

Remand for a sincere apology

Wrong! And it was a Miami judge. She apologized to the judge. LINK

When Soto left the second time, she flipped the judge off. Rodriguez-Chomat called her back a second time and sentenced her to 30 days in jail on contempt of court charges.
"My behavior was very irrational, and I apologize not only to the court and you, but to my family," Soto said in court Friday.
Rodriguez-Chomat vacated the 30 day contempt of court sentence.

why do people not get this?
Posted on 6/10/13 at 7:05 pm to Rickety Cricket
of the very small number of times a judge has been aggressive with me while i presented something to the court, the vast majority of those instances involved asking for leniency in PV stuff
most judges see the probation as a gift to the defendant already, and violating that pisses them off

That dude was calling for the judge to be "fired" so there is that.
Posted on 6/10/13 at 7:09 pm to tigerpimpbot
Judge should be fired. No doubt about that. Local sports talk radio shows here have been saying the same this afternoon.
No way a person should be in a position of authority with judgement as poor as this "judge".
In fact, she should serve 10 days in jail to give her some perspective. It should be that or lose her job. Because she obviously struggles to perform her job with her current lack of perspective.
And I really am done wasting time now.

i get what you're saying, but i have been to many courts (in LA only, mind you), and this is pretty common

Dear god the immaturity on this discussion is astounding.
Jones is 100% right. When you put yourself in a position that you are being judged by a court of law, you don't act like a clown. You're there for breaking a law. It isn't a place for humor.
Some of you have a lot of growing up to do.
