Possibly, but I think he's a year or two away. I also don't think he's to ever going to be the elite passer Mourinho had in Alonso. I don't think he can be as good as Cambiasso either. Mourinho has been spoiled in terms of his midfield options in his past two teams. Chelsea's options deep in midfield are more pedestrian. If he has to sell to buy, then I'm not surprised that Mata and Luiz would be the first to go. They would each demand around 25 million euros at the minimum. Who else would he sell that could raise his transfer funds?

So who is he going to buy once he has these funds? What players would be good enough to justify selling two of our best young players?
