That's probably my last obstacle from fully being on board with this pick.

Just ask yourself who else could they draft that would get significant minutes this year? Monty and Dell are ready to win, not tank for Wiggins, so they aren't going to trade a veteran just to open up minutes for a rookie.

CJ McCollum and Burke are probably ready to make an impact, but how many minutes would they get with Vasquez as the established starter and Rivers being Monty's pet project?

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is who I think is the best mix of talent meeting need, but if Gordon's healthy and they bring Roberts back even he would struggle to get much more than 10-15 minutes a game.

Len would not get any time with the bigs currently on our roster unless there was an injury.

Porter plays a position of need but he's so lightweight he could be a few years away from being useful. Plus rookies are almost always bad on defense, and his offense isn't good enough to over come that so he'd probably be 3rd string behind Aminu/FA and Miller most of the year.

What if we draft Shabazz, I still think that this dude will be a pure score in the NBA. People are down on him, but I'm not. He has that never quit mentality and a good work ethic, much like Austin Rivers.

Very true as well. Shabazz is one player who could, but he's going to be a player that a team either loves or hates (like Jarvis Jones for the NFL draft), and I can see a lot of teams not even having him on their board at all.

I guess it isn't as much as getting significant minutes as it as getting any minutes with the team, and seeing the rookie progress. It wouldn't be the end of world if we drafted him and he stayed over there a year, because let's fact it, we aren't a championship contender this year.
