This is our year, if we were ever going to go up... it has to be this season. Championship is A LOT weaker then it was last season.

Reece wabara and sylvan ebanks-blake are transfer targets per the YEP

Would love to have him. He is a goal scoring machine when in form.

Reece wabara
Young defender, don't know much about him. Seems like another Jason Pearce.

yea SE-B is proven at this level. wabara seems like he'd be worth a flier, maybe on loan. i think he is entering the final year of his deal at citeh.

and it's not an offseason at leeds without some controversy

frick that guy. can't see why they don't just name patel or haigh to replace bates.

GFH Capital’s ownership of Leeds United is the focus of fresh attention after the company was forced to intervene in an unseemly dispute between the club’s new vice-chairman and their Thorp Arch academy.
Representatives of Leeds’ owner found themselves at odds with director and shareholder Salah Nooruddin following an attempt by Nooruddin to secure an academy place for the son of one of his business contacts.

I don't think either want it, nor do they have to experience to do it. Patel doesn't seem to have the football knowledge, and Haigh's is limited to being a supporter, not necessarily how a club should function. But this guy they allowed to buy in a few weeks ago seems like a huge douche.

they should bring in a "football guy" although i think they seem to be willing to give mcdermott some rope to pretty much run shite the way he wants with the team which i am cool with, wouldn't have happened with ken.

Was McDermott given a lot of leeway to build Reading his way? Some of the players we have been linked with seem questionable, but maybe that is just The Sun being The Sun.

i think so to an extent. i know he was responsible for a lot of behind the scenes work while pardew, coppell and rodgers were there. came up as the chief scout and reserve coach. i like his background.

Sounds like leeds and celtic in a fight to sign kevin doyle. McDermott spotted him at cork city and helped bring him to reading in his scouting days.

I have a feeling we will continue to be linked with Wolves players. Also saw that we are asking Doyle to take a 25,000 lb. pay cut... might not work with Celtic able to throw mid table Prem money at him.

Every year i come in this thread and post words of encouragement and every year I'm disappointed. The prem is just better when LUFC is up and we have a common enemy...please do better.

thanks. i have a good feeling about this year. i think we finally have the right manager which is the most important thing.

goosey, check out the articles phil hay posted in the YEP today. warnock is such a cocksucker
thank goodness that clown is far away from this club. even if he pulled another rabbit out his hat and got us up, we'd have gone straight down and the squad would have been a shambles. in mcdermott we trust.

I remember meeting 4 englishmen at a pub about a month after Warnock was in. i brought up the fact that Warnock played us in a 3-4-3 and was asking them if he was known for being downsy. They laughed, bought me a pint and we talked about Colin Wanker and laughed.
I never liked the appointment, and thought it was a hail mary for Bates to sell the club for 10x as much if Warnock had lucked into getting us up.
I really hope McDermott can bring in some good talent and keep Byram... and we really need to win the Champinoship this year. It is probably going to be one the easier years in recent years.
