Who happen to be the two best teams, plus aTm who they lost to in the tourney. That record would've been 9-3 at best had they faced Mengden and Stanek as well, IMO.

We played quite a few common opponents and Vandy had a much better record against those opponents than LSU had.

Aside from head-to-head competition in a meaningful 3-game series, this is the most salient point. Until the CWS is over, Vandy gets the nod based on slightly better RPI, conference champions by a wide margin, and clearly superior record against common opponents. All we have to put against that is one head-to-head with depleted staffs. Plus we were given two important outs by the umps. I like our chances in the NCAA's, but Vandy should get the one seed.
