What are some of your favorite trailers? The movie doesn't necessarily have to be your favorite. One of mine is for Beginners, it just so turned out that it was also one of my favorite movies.

- Social Network (with kids choir)
- Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Led Zeppelin cover) David Fincher always delivers great trailers
- newest one for Man of Steel
- Goldeneye (nearly wet myself when I found out they were finally bringing back Bond)
- Where the Wild Things Are (movie sucked, couldn't even finish it, but the trailer was great)
Forgot to add Watchmen. Say what you want about the movie but that trailer was a masterpiece. Zack Snyder, just like Fincher, are probably the two best directors when it comes to movie trailers.
One director I've always thought should have better trailers was Tarantino. For being such a film geek, his trailers are usually underwhelming.

I could not agree with you more in regards to where the wild things are. That trailer gave me so much hope for the movie. While I finished the movie, I felt let down. The Karen O soundtrack is great however.

Solid list
I would add Star Wars Episode I to the list of movies that weren't great but the trailers were awesome

Any trailer with Sigur Ros becomes immediately more epic.

Place beyond the pines was a great trailer. And the assassination of Jesse James was also excellent. Any trailer or movie with a nick cave/warren Ellis score is great. Which reminds me, the proposition trailer is great.
Also to the wonder, and tree of life. Malick's incredible visuals always lend themselves to being cut into phenomenal trailers.
