What's the OT's opinion on this double edged fixed blade knife? I want a small fixed blade, but don't know if I want the double edge.

The CRKT production Sting™, complete with a custom high-strength nylon fabric/glass filled nylon sheath, is a multipurpose one-piece utility knife that is just about indestructible.
Hot forging is the reason the Sting is so tough. It begins life as an ordinary blank of 1050 carbon steel, similar to the alloy used in traditional Samurai swords, which is first hot forged and then precision ground into final shape. We apply a black non-reflective powder coat finish to resist corrosion.
The spear point blade features two Razor-Sharp cutting edges. The integral handle is contoured to fit the bare or gloved hand nicely and provides heft and balance, with thumb detents for grip. A large lanyard hole is provided, allowing the use of a wrist lanyard, or carry as a neck knife.
Like A.G. Russell himself, the Sting is a tough character that has earned its respect.

I'm a fan of CRKT. I carry a Ken Onion daily. I have no use for a double edge though

What are you suppose to do with it?

dbl edge knives are illegal in many states.

I'd be using it as a hiking/camping/survival knife. It's designed as a boot knife. It's a remake of the military boot knives made by A.G. Russell in the late 70's.

As a puredee SD knife, it could manage.
I feel there are far better choices out there.
For what you are looking for, I would suggest the ESEE or Becker/Ka-Bar line.
Knifeworks has an excellent selection of both.

To me that is all it is a self protection boot knife, if you want a small fixed knife to chores don't go there. Just MhO.
